ADVANCED GUIDELINES FOR DIGITAL COPY SUBMISSIONS.
Original Applications
When submitting a file in its original application all linked images and fonts (screen and printer) must be included. Remember to use the actual typestyle of the font and not the style palette. Illustrator files should either have the fonts included or convert the text to outlines or curves. All embedded images should be sized at 100% and included with the layout. Note that some of the artwork included with original applications is of a potentially low resolution that will negatively affect the copied output. All margins should be minimally set at 1/2".
Portable Document Format Files (PDF)
This is our preferred format for file submission. PDF files are a very good way to keep all your fonts, graphics and page formatting in one file. PDF files are both device independent and cross platform. This means that they may be previewed and should print out the same on most printers. PDF files may be created directly from most of Adobe’s software programs. The PDF file format is small in size.
Postscript Files (EPS)
The issues of missing fonts and missing graphic files do not apply with Postscript files. Postscript is a page description language which is both device independent and cross platform. This means that it should print out the same on most Postscript printers. So the Postscript file is a ready to print file, which contains all the fonts, graphics and formatting from your original document. When sending a Postscript file, there is no need to include the associated fonts and graphics.

To create a Postscript file you must have a Postscript printer driver. If you don’t already have one, Adobe provides these drivers for Mac and PC free from their web site. Once you have a driver, open the print dialog window from within your application then find and select print to file. Click print or save. Now the output that would usually go to your printer is saved as a file. The file is what you will send to us.

Please note that Postscript files can be significantly larger than the original file.

Fonts
Please include all of your screen and printer fonts when submitting original application files. All fonts must be Mac-only, we cannot install PC fonts or truetype fonts. We can substitute fonts for Mac and PC files at our hourly design rate. To avoid possible charges, please "create outlines" or "set text to curves" on all text within the appropriate (Illustrator & Photoshop) PC files.
Graphics
All graphics and other support files must be included when submitting original application files. All graphics must be sized at 100%, rotated, and cropped in the application in which it was created before placing in any other application. Doing so will prevent long rip times and possible additional charges.
Color
All full color files should be set to CMYK and not RGB.
Compression
Compression keeps your files from being corrupted in transmission. Mac users should create a Stuffit archive file (.sit .hqx .sea) that consisting of all files to be sent, including fonts. PC users should create a Winzip (.zip) file that includes all files to be sent.

Note:
All file editing or design, extended rip times, corrections, and typesetting are billable at their hourly rate. The minimum charge is for one half hour at the corrections rate or $15.
